Acceptable Use Policy
Content that may not be generated with Scientific Figure, and how violations are handled.
Ultimo aggiornamento: 2026-08-06
Purpose
Scientific Figure generates scientific figures, diagrams, and illustrations. This policy defines the content that may not be created, uploaded, or distributed through the service, and how we enforce these rules. It is part of our Terms of Service.
Prohibited Content
You may not use Scientific Figure to generate, upload, or attempt to generate any of the following:
- Sexual or NSFW content — Pornographic, sexually explicit, or sexually suggestive material of any kind. Clinical anatomical illustration for legitimate scientific or medical purposes is permitted; sexualized content is not.
- Violence and gore — Content that glorifies, incites, or gratuitously depicts violence, cruelty, or graphic injury. Medically necessary depictions (e.g., surgical illustration, pathology figures) are permitted when created for scientific or educational purposes.
- Hate speech — Content that demeans, threatens, or promotes discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and content that endangers minors — Any sexual or exploitative depiction of minors, real or generated. Zero tolerance: violations result in immediate permanent termination and are reported to the relevant authorities (including NCMEC where applicable).
- Deepfakes and impersonation — Realistic depictions of identifiable real people without their consent, content designed to impersonate a person or organization, and fabricated "evidence" (including falsified experimental data, forged instrument readouts, or doctored images presented as authentic research results).
- Copyright and trademark infringement — Content that reproduces copyrighted works, trademarks, or logos you do not have rights to use, including uploading third-party figures for imitation without permission.
Content Moderation
We moderate in two layers:
- Automated filtering — Prompts and generation requests pass through model-level safety filters that block sexual, violent, and other prohibited content at generation time.
- Human review — Content flagged by our systems or reported by users is reviewed by a person before enforcement action is taken. We do not use automated permanent bans without human confirmation, except for CSAM.
Reporting Violations
If you encounter content generated with our service that violates this policy, report it to support@scientificfigure.com with the subject line "Content Report". Include a link or screenshot of the content and a short description of the violation. We acknowledge reports within 2 business days and complete review within 7 days. Reporters' identities are kept confidential.
Enforcement
Violations are handled proportionately to their severity and frequency:
| Action | When applied | | --- | --- | | Warning | First minor violation, likely unintentional | | Content removal | Any confirmed violating content is deleted from our systems | | Account suspension | Repeated violations, or a single serious violation | | Permanent termination | Severe violations (CSAM, deliberate deepfake abuse, repeated offenses after suspension). Remaining credits are forfeited | | Report to authorities | Content that is illegal (including CSAM) is reported to law enforcement |
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal within 14 days by emailing support@scientificfigure.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service and applicable regulations evolve. Material changes are announced on this page with an updated revision date.
