# Scientific Figure pricing and credits

## How credits work

- Every new account receives 100 credits on sign-up. No card is required.
- Completing the short onboarding survey adds 50 credits.
- One render spends credits according to the model and the output resolution (table below). The reference cost is a 1K figure on the default model, GPT Image 2: 30 credits.
- Subscription credits are granted each month and expire at the end of that billing period. Unused credits do not roll over.
- Yearly plans grant the same monthly amount, month by month, for twelve months.
- Credit-pack credits never expire and unlock every paid feature while any remain. Subscription credits are spent first, pack credits last.

## Free plan

- 100 credits to start, granted once on sign-up.
- Models available: GPT Image 2, GPT Image 2.5 Flare.
- Output at 1K only: no 2K or 4K rendering and no upscaling.
- Exports carry a small corner watermark.
- Edit in Canvas, layered SVG and editable PPTX export are listed with the paid plans; the canvas is priced at 150 credits per figure, above the free grant. No publication license certificate, no customer support.
- Standard generation queue.

Pack credits never expire. While any remain, the account has every paid feature: all models, output up to 4K, upscale to 8K, Edit in Canvas, SVG and PPTX export, no watermark, publication license certificates and priority support. No subscription is needed.

## Credits per render, by model and resolution

Resolution is the long side of the output: 1K = 1536 px, 2K = 2048 px, 4K = 4096 px. A model that stops at a lower tier shows a dash.

## Other credit costs

- Edit actions on an existing figure (quick edit, redraw a region, change text, white background, recolor): 30 at 1K, 50 at 2K, 80 at 4K, whichever model drew the figure.
- Upscale, a pixel-exact enlargement with no re-render: 50 credits to 2K, 80 credits to 4K, 200 credits to 8K. Every upscale needs a paid plan or pack credits; 8K additionally needs Pro, Plus or a credit pack.
- Edit in Canvas, which turns a finished figure into editable objects (text, panels, shapes): 150 credits per figure. It is priced in credits, not tied to a plan.
- Publication license certificates cost no credits; they are issued with every export on a paid plan or pack.

## Billing

- Card payments through Stripe at an encrypted checkout; card details never reach our servers.
- Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and run to the end of the paid period.
